Wow! How is it March already???

As the weather shifts, with the smell of spring in the air, like the rest of Nature, I too feel the call to stir from my deep winter slumber.

To rise… To stretch my slumbering body awake… To step outside, marvel at the colors blooming forth, frolic on the tender young shoots of grass pushing up, intoxicate myself on the scents and sounds, and soak up the warming sun… Ahhhhhhh

Now that I’m re-emerging from my deep winter hibernation, I thought it high time to send out a newsletter after months of silence, and say ‘Howdy!’

SATURDAY March 13th @ 2:22am PST

We’ve got a new moon coming up this weekend. This New Moon will be in the lunar constellation of Purva Bhadrapada, who’s power is that of the spiritual fire, which elevates consciousness. So this is a great time for meditation and cultivating our spiritual practices. This nakshatra’s symbol is the front 2 feet of the funeral bed, and therefore related to the final purification ritual of cremation. As such, this constellation is associated with heat, fire and combustion. That said, it pays to be mindful with our words and deeds at this time, in order to avoid adding fuel to the fire, avoid creating excess volatility in our lives and relationships. Again, a great time to meditate and keep ourselves out of trouble.

Clocks spring forward an hour into Daylight Savings Time this weekend, so remember to adjust your clock, as we lose an hour of sleep from Saturday night to Sunday morning.

SATURDAY March 20th @ 2:37am PST

The world suspends momentarily in the space of equal light and dark, as we arrive at the point of Spring Equinox… Then begins to tip towards longer days and shorter nights as we move from Spring Equinox towards Summer Solstice. This means warmer weather and more light… Time to get gardening… Soon enough there will be pool parties, beach outings, picnics and bbq’s, camping trips, vacations, concerts under the stars…

hail in sacramento!!!

Did you catch it??? There was HAIL here in Sacramento just yesterday, on March 10th!!! CRAZY!!! Right?!?! It was WILD!!! Thunder and all! So exhilarating!!! I love dramatic weather!!! Well, when I am tucked away safely inside… No fun to be caught in it. If you were caught in it, I hope you stayed safe thru the brief yet intense deluge. Here’s a picture of my front yard yesterday during the hail storm.
